Purpose

This qualification is designed for potential and existing entrepreneurs to capitalize on opportunities to start or grow sustainable businesses that form part of the mainstream economy.  

Exit Outcomes:

The learner will have:

• Acquisition of an entrepreneurial profile which includes an innovative business idea
• An understanding of the industry or sector in which learners wish to establish a new venture
• An ability to match new venture opportunities to market needs within a chosen industry or sector
• An ability to determine and manage the financial requirements of a new venture
• An ability to match new venture opportunities to market needs
• An ability to compile and use a business plan to manage a new venture and also where relevant, to seek funding for a new venture 

Duration: 12 Months

Learners will spend up to 40 days in the classroom and the rest in the workplace applying learnt skills and knowledge through coaching.

Learning and Assessment

Our methodology is interactive and experiential. Learning, teaching, coaching and assessment are integrated. Whenever possible, the assessment of knowledge, skills, attitudes and values shown in the unit standards will be integrated and the learner will be encouraged to set up a new venture whilst learning is underway so that assessment takes place after new venture has been set up and learning has been practically implemented.
